This week has flown by!

• Pablo, Donald, and Mike got together on Tuesday night to go over worship stuff. On their own. Without me. That is awesome to me. Harmony Church is pastored by Jesus Christ, not Derek Brown!
• Donald wrote a great post on how weird our leaders are.
• Donald didn’t like me when he first met me? Imagine that…I never would’ve thought. :)  I have a way with first impressions.
• Rick McKinley’s book on the church, This Beautiful Mess, makes sense to me now that we’re doing life together. I used the term “beautiful mess” on Thursday with my meeting with Pastor Hoggard.
• Pastor asked me to speak to the church on Wednesday. I had to turn it down for theological reasons. Conviction over opportunity: every time. Plus, I’m speaking 4 different messages in these two weeks. What a whirlwind.
• I had an awesome meeting with Pastor on Thursday. It’s good to know that, despite our differences and trials in ministry, our relationship is still based on Christ and going strong. I love the man like he was a third grand..er..second father. (He is kind of ’senior’)
• Spoke at a campus ministry on Thursday night. Went pretty good. I don’t like the “lecture” style messages, but was asked to speak about Scripture, not necessarily from it. Went through the canonization of Scripture. My favorite part? A revelation from the Spirit: we are to look at the world, including Scripture, not through rose-colored glasses, but through crimson-colored glasses. That was worth going to me (trust me, they weren’t my words).
• I wish Brad could remember what else spoke to him….
• Eagles are going to destroy the Jets on Sunday.
• Gamecocks are going to destroy the Tar Heels today.
• Looking forward to an awesome Echo Group on Sunday night!
