Tuesday Night Mind Dump

Wow, it’s been a busy week. Here we go:

  • Vacation was awesome! I don’t see how anyone who has seen the Great Smokies can deny God. They were beautiful, plus a hot tub, plenty of books, and time with Miranda doesn’t hurt either.
  • I’m so excited for our small group to get started in August! We’re going through Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper, and it’s going to be radical for us to dive deeper into the joy of Jesus.
  • I recently got a chance to listen to the Deep series from Elevation Church while traveling from the mountains, and Steven was on point. JD Greear, who is a great guy in person, was good too.
  • It’s amazing what Christ is doing through Mars Hill Seattle. Just want to throw that out there.
  • We’re doing grab bags for returning college students in August and I think it’s going to be a great, tangible way for us to show ECU that we care and to let them know we’re here. We did it when we started Chi Alpha, and we saw some great results from it.
  • I’m meeting with a videographer this week on doing a professional vision video for Harmony. It’s going to be a real plus for us to have in fundraising.
  • I’m also meeting with a key asset in the coming weeks on obtaining a possible location for us in the downtown/uptown area of Greenville. If we do meet here, it will be incredible: sound equipment, plasma TVs, and a lunch spot already included!

I totally agree with your first point. On a messageboard at nc state, some people were talking about some advanced calculus concepts and someone said “How can people say there is no God after seeing stuff like this?” It was a very refreshing comment to see in an environment where not a lot of people defer the world’s wonders to God.
