If you haven’t caught the previous couple of posts on this subject, here you go (Intro, Part I, Part II). This is the last five of the fifteen.
- The Village Community Church (Milton, ON - Canada)
- This church is one of the more innovative as far as technology I’ve seen in a while. They are in a relatively smaller community than a lot of the more ‘advanced’ plants (Milton, Ontario - pop. 50,000+), but they are doing it and doing it well. Their website is extremely informative and well laid-out, and their blog is very communicative about what they are doing “above the line.” Check them out!
- Church! at Bethany (Beaverton, OH)
- Matt Payne is a great guy, and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him at the recent NNCC. But more than that, he’s a great leader leading a great church in Oregon. They are innovative not only with their multi-site ready name, but also in their approach to families. They have a Sunday Morning Live show that is Disney-esque and geared towards families with younger children. It’s on summer break right now (understandably so) but I’m sure it’s going to blow up come fall season. Really cool stuff out of Beaverton.
- Sojourn Church (Huntsville, AL)
- This church recently became an official A29 church, and on top of that, is becoming a great church plant in the Bible-saturated South. Led by David Thew, Sojourn meets in a brewery. How cool is that? Plus, they are reaching a demographic in a Seattlesque city in the south. It’s really cool to see what their doing and to talk with David about his vision for Alabama. They are also looking into the area, planting churches in possibly Tennessee and Georgia. Looking forward to hearing great things out of Huntsville.
- Harmony Church (Greenville, NC)
- Ok, so I am biased. But this church that has not had a service yet frickin’ rocks. Check ‘em out here: Harmony Church I hear their pastor’s pretty cool too.

- But Wait! That’s only 14!
- Right. One of the top church plants in the country is the one that you haven’t planted yet. The American church has to keep up with the American population. Want to plant a church and have no clue where to start? Email me at derek@harmonydc.com.
