Miranda and I hosted an impromptu cookout tonight with part of our potential/future leadership team. It went pretty well, and we had tons of fun. At first, the only true common thread was me, even though they had run into one another on more than one occasion. Two of them had been deeply involved (and still are) with a college ministry Miranda and I helped to plant, and the other is a great friend that has tons of musical talent; leading worship at a local church. We had a great time, and I fired up the new grill for the first time this summer (with many more to come). The burgers were good, the fellowship was greater. We simply hung out: no agenda, no visioncasting, nothing like that. Just random talk and laughter. Good times. I might could get used to this.
