Enterprise: True Customer Service
Posted in: GeneralWhen I went down to Orlando this week, I had to rent a car. I used Hotwire to get a deal, and it was through Enterprise. I will no longer rent a car from anyone else. Here’s a simple list of what they did for me:
- Shuttle to and from the airport (pretty standard: but the shuttle was quick, the driver extremely friendly on both trips, and they carried my luggage for me as well - the drop-off guy even remembered the airline that everyone on the packed shuttle was flying).
- The gentlemen who checked me in (Kevin) was extremely cordial, I got an instant free upgrade just because, and he walked over the car with me, explaining how everything worked and what to do if either an accident occurred or the car broke down.
- Kevin printed off a map to my next destination, describing in good detail how to get there. I was time-pressed, and arrived early because of his helpfulness.
- When I dropped off the car, they made me feel like I was a hero. The customer service was excellent, second to none, and everyone was extremely friendly.
Congrats, Enterprise: you now have a life-long customer.

I used Hotwire and got stuck with Budget. I will never rent a car from them! We waited in line after midnight for over an hour. They did not help us at all. Then they made a mistake that we had to deal with when we brought the car back.
I, too, was impressed with the service Enterprise provided - the guy even walked the car with me to look for dents, and even placed his hand on some of the spots. He was making a lot of conversation as he did it, as well. When he didn’t place any of the minor dents on the sheet, I assumed that they were not significant to warrant being marked…
until I checked my car back in that night, to a different lady with a very sharp eye for dents.
I got sick went she started asking me how they got there — I had assumed that the dents that had already been there were not worth marking, since the guy had walked the car with me and hadn’t mentioned them. Fortunately (I guess), the first guy talked me into getting extra coverage on the car — and the lady eventually said I was covered. But I _really_ think the dents were there previously, and I was _really_ feeling sick about those circumstances.
